Things Fall Apart: Skip Week (1 November 2026)

For several reasons, there will be no chapter this week. Those reasons include, in no particular order:

• I had a meeting for a small local relaxicon I help run.
• Surprise good weather meant going out and playing radio after that.
• The election has completely devoured my brain.
• I know several things that happen next but I have not yet decided which one to write about next.
• While she was willing to give editing a stab today, Briar is Down with the Sickness, and given all of the above, it seemed like taking a break this week would not be the end of the squirrel.

Tangentially related, if you read this and would like to leave a "Get Well" comment directed at Briar in the comments on the website, that would be awesome.

Also while I'm taking tangents: I am giving some thought to starting to write some "Behind the Scenes" and/or "Tolkeinesque Appendix" articles specifically to post during skip weeks. If so, however, these would be a perk for paid subscribers. So this is a not very subtle hint that if you both like the story itself and like the idea of Bonus Content, throwing a sub my way would help to encourage that!
